Apprenticeships focus on the whole job, not just individual skills.

How it Works

Apprentices learn through a combination of on- and off-the-job education and training. On the job they work alongside your staff and the rest they learn from a local learning provider (usually on a day release basis).

Apprenticeships help you stay competitive by developing the kind of people your business needs for the future.

Finding the right Apprenticeship Apprenticeships offer a fantastic range of training in 80 different sectors of industry, covering a huge range of subjects from health and social care to business administration.

A learning provider can help you and your apprentice decide which Apprenticeship is best for your business.
There are two levels of Apprenticeship for apprentices and advanced apprentices:

  • Apprenticeships for apprentices usually last  at least a year and apprentices work towards a National Vocational Qualification at Level 2, Key Skills and in most cases a technical certificate.
  • Advanced Apprenticeships usually last at least two years and apprentices work towards a National Vocational Qualification at Level 3, Key Skills and a technical certificate.

Relevant training

Apprenticeships are designed by businesses in your sector to meet the needs of your business. This means the training is always relevant and it is tailored to the needs of your sector by people who genuinely understand what you do.

Avoid skills shortages

Apprenticeships allow you to invest in your business's future. By taking on an apprentice you can acquire specialist skills for your business that allow you to keep abreast of new technology.
